Yong In University was founded in 1953 as Korea Judo School, specializing in teaching Judo to its students. As suggested by its roots, the school is still well known for sports-related studies such as its College of Martial Arts and College of Sports Sciences. Many of its alumni are famous Olympians, which include judoka Cho Jun-ho, weightlifter Jang Mi-ran and taekwondo athlete Lee Dae-hoon. The university is located in Yongin, Gyeonggi, and is about a 20 minute bus ride from central Yongin and the City Hall building. Yongin is on the edge of the Seoul subway, but the rural location of the university means a bus ride of about an hour and 15 minutes is the most convenient way to get into Seoul.
