Soonchunhyang University was founded in 1978 as a medical college, but currently offers various other majors ranging from social sciences, business and big data engineering. Starting as a medical college, there are four hospitals operated by the univeristy. The hospitals are located in Yongsan District in central Seoul, Bucheon in Gyeonggi, Cheonan in South Chungcheong and Gumi in North Gyeongsang. The university's Department of Global Open Major is offered specifically for international students only. Admitted students take Korean language classes during their freshman year, later choosing one of the three majors offered — Korean Language as a Foreign Language, International Studies and Global Health Care — in their sophomore year. Among the three majors, all classes in international studies are fully taught in English. The school's campus is located in Asan, South Chungcheong, and is about a 20 minute walk from Shinchang station, the closest subway station.
We are committed to helping applicants from any part of the world access education opportunities in South Korea. At the same time, we want our students to have a high chance of getting their visa approved. Accordingly, WayToKorea will charge a mandatory processing fee of USD 250 (“Processing Fee”) from any applicant.
Note 1: WayToKorea reserves the right to change, refund or waive the Processing Fee at its sole discretion for any reason. A processing fee may be added at any time during the application process at the sole discretion of WayToKorea. Your use of WayToKorea after such request and/or change constitutes your acceptance of any new or increased charges.
Note 2: WayToKorea may also charge a non-refundable deposit for certain university programs, the amount of which is determined at its sole discretion.
Note 3: The processing fee does not apply to students who are already in the host country of study and/or who are in the host country on a valid student visa and are applying for another program in the same country.
Note 4: Once a student has paid the Processing Fee, he or she can apply for 3 programs until they receive confirmation of acceptance. WayToKorea may charge additional processing fees if a student applies for more than three (3) programs and/or is accepted into one of the three (3) original programs but decides to apply further and additional applications.
