Pusan National University was found in 1946 as Korea’s first national university receiving government accreditation. It is also one of the 10 national universities established by the government. Traditionally, the school is most known for its school of mechanical engineering. The school has four campuses, with each campus home to different majors. Its main campus in Geunmjeong, Busan is home to most of the majors, ranging from engineering, humanities, social sciences, arts and education. Its Ami campus in Seo District, Busan serves as a venue for the school’s Pusan National University Hospital. Its two other campuses are outside of Busan. The Yangsan campus is in Yangsan, South Gyeongsang and students studying medicine, dentistry, nursing and traditional medicine are at the campus. The Miryang campus in Miryang, South Gyeongsang has courses for students studying agricultural studies, such as agriculture and life sciences and biotechnology.
