Kyungpook National University is one of Korea's 10 flagship national universities, founded in 1946. Its Department of Mobile Engineering is especially well known and was jointly established with Samsung Electronics in 2011. All students majoring in mobile engineering are offered four-year scholarships if they meet the minimum GPA requirements. Graduates are also guaranteed a position at Samsung Electronics, provided they meet the minimum GPA requirements and pass the company's Samsung Aptitude Test. The university has two campuses, with its main Daegu campus spanning over Buk District and Jung District in Daegu. Most of the courses, ranging from humanities and engineering to arts and education are held at the campus. The Sangju campus is in Sangju, North Gyeongsang, located within a 3-hour bus ride of the main campus. It only offers classes for the College of Ecology and Environmental Science and College of Science and Technology.
