Founded in 1952, Korea Aerospace University (KAU) is a school dedicated to fostering future experts in the aerospace industry. According to the university, the curriculum here covers a wide spectrum of sectors from the design and engineering of aircraft and spacecraft to flight, air traffic control, air cargo logistics and airport management. The school has established partnerships with global companies including Airbus, Boeing, GE and Lockheed Martin for research programs and various other programs.
The university is located in Deogyang District, Goyang, which is a part of Gyeonggi that borders the western edge of Seoul. From the school, travel to western Seoul takes only about 20 minutes, although more central parts of the city could be between 30 minutes and an hour away.
Considering the characteristics of an aerospace university where a lot of flight testing is required, the area around the university is kept very empty, so students here will need to travel to Seoul if they want a more metropolitan life.
