Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) is best known for its language programs. Established in 1954, HUFS currently teaches 45 foreign languages with the goal of fostering students as global leaders. Its English for International Conferences and Communication (EICC) division is known for nurturing interpretation and translation experts. HUFS has exchange agreements with 543 universities and institutions in 93 countries. The university has two branches, with the main Seoul Campus located in Dongdaemun District, eastern Seoul, and home to language and literature majors. Its second Global Campus is in Yongin, Gyeonggi, about an hour and a half drive from the Seoul Campus, and offers interpretation-related majors and engineering. HUFS plans to build a third campus in Songdo, Incheon, specifically focused on fourth industrial revolution technologies such as AI and big data.
